Overview
Course duration: 1 day.
A new concept of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) has been introduced into EU customs law. UK Customs are charged with responsibility for implementing these rules and for processing AEO applications.
An organisation or business with AEO status will be able to obtain benefits under security and safety provisions and from simplifications under customs rules.
Some businesses are finding that although they are unsure about these benefits and what they really amount to, their trading partners are insisting that they will have to obtain AEO status as a condition of continuing to trade with them.
