However, they all have one thing in common… a solid belief in the positive impact learning and people development can have on organisational performance and results. They are highly focused on providing clients with insightful, high quality, high value innovative programmes that deliver measurable impact and results.


Marc Hutchings - Head of Open and E-Learning

Following an early career in publishing and advertising Marc joined Hemsley Fraser at its inception in 1991. Initially involved in course production and operations roles Marc moved into a customer relationship position in the late 1990s and was the first member of the Strategic Account Director team. Marc now has ultimate responsibility for Hemsley Fraser's Open Course capability including the delivery of Technology Enhanced Learning.

Marc has worked on projects involving delivery throughout the UK and in more than 12 countries around the world. He has considerable experience of working with customers from the financial services industry but has also worked with professional firms, local and national government organisations, major FMCG companies and a variety of small and medium sized enterprises. Marc has a particular interest in finding simple solutions that enable the full Hemsley Fraser capability to be brought to play on a customers' learning and development challenges.

Away from work Marc has rediscovered his love of rugby albeit at "veterans" level and any remaining spare time is taken up by his young and growing family.

Murray Furlong - Head of Design

Murray has more than 15 years' experience across the learning and development and consulting spectrum. He started his career in educational radio broadcasting with the BBC before stepping into a key role designing and developing a suite of world-class production and talent development programmes for television, radio and online services. As a learning programmes consultant working right across the organisation, Murray project managed an award winning BBC-wide leadership development programme, in partnership with Ashridge Business School, for over 3,500 leaders. He also designed and delivered a number of high profile learning programmes to support and drive key change strategies, including a Future Finance for Managers programme which increased collaboration across the business and a bespoke change management consultancy service, which enabled senior leaders to co-create and implement more innovative working practices directly with their teams.

With a naturally positive, warm and engaging style Murray is always able to build trust and rapport with his clients, and believes in encouraging people to take responsibility for what they can and will do differently in the future. Having gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Bradford University School of Management, Murray is well equipped to ensure that all learning and development is grounded in measurable business outcomes. He is a British Psychological Society (BPS) registered practitioner of psychometric development tools, including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and 16PF (Sixteen Personality Factors) and is also accredited by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) in Management & Executive Coaching. He has consulted with, designed and delivered programmes to senior audiences in the areas of leadership, management, consulting, strategy and cultural change, process improvement, coaching and action learning. His clients include: Rolls-Royce, BP, Standard Life, Sodexo, Co-operative Banking Group, Liverpool Victoria and the Axa Group.

Kelly Perryman - Head of Finance

Kelly is a qualified accountant and member of CIMA and joined the Hemsley Fraser Group back in 2006 after gaining experience at Tetra Pak and Kellogg's in Manchester. Kelly has helped to improve the Finance organisation and processes within Hemsley Fraser and enjoys the challenges of the dynamic global environment.

Kelly is very flexible and practical and prides herself on getting things done efficiently whilst still maintaining great attention to detail.

A key member of Hemsley Fraser's Leadership team, Kelly plays an active role in all major client projects as the Finance Workstream Leader. Kelly is committed to excellence and brings a vast amount of experience in relation to system implementations, financial planning and forecasting. Kelly drives the year-end audit process and ensures tax and statutory accounts compliance at Hemsley Fraser.

Kelly studied in France as part of her Accounting and Finance with French degree BA (Hons) and she really enjoys working for a French owned company. She speaks French and works closely with other subsidiaries to consolidate the group results to Demos, our French parent company.

When not juggling the demands of her role with being a mum of two young children, Kelly likes to stay fit and play netball as well as fundraising to support charities close to her heart.

Daniel Morgan - Head of Marketing

Daniel joined Hemsley Fraser's marketing department and leadership team in March 2005. He has a Business degree and over 17 years of B2B marketing experience, including over 15 years of experience in the learning and development industry.

Understanding clients' learning challenges is Daniel's strength and he ensures that Hemsley Fraser remain market leading experts in learning. He is passionate about promoting Hemsley Fraser's creative and innovative learning programmes to customers globally. Daniel works closely with the business development and learning delivery teams to ensure customers enjoy a highly refreshing and insightful experience with Hemsley Fraser.

When not working, Daniel enjoys mountain or coastal walks, biking, or relaxing with a glass of wine or beer.


Christina Gutsell - Head of Client Services

Christina is a highly skilled learning and development professional with extensive experience in leading client service and delivery teams. Her ability to really understand the strategic and operational issues affecting a client comes from having held a variety of positions in the learning and development arena including management and sales trainer, strategic account director, strategic vendor manager and head of client services. Her relationship with clients is always underpinned by a true partnership approach. Christina's ability to immerse herself with the client means she is able to collaborate and consult effectively whilst always acting as an honest, trusted partner.

A key member of Hemsley Fraser's management team, Christina's principal role is to leads and inspire her teams to consistently deliver the highest standards of customer service. Christina helps the extremely committed and dedicated client focused teams to identify the attributes of client service which not only meet but also exceed expectations.

Her passion for service excellence means she leads by example in her strategic client relationships. This has led to her involvement in winning and maintaining key client engagements and global strategic accounts. Christina's extensive experience in sales and service operations ensures that client solutions are implemented effectively to ensure ongoing high quality service delivery. Her ability to work both strategically as well as operationally ensures the client vision is delivered through robust client focused service processes.

In her spare time Christina will often be found by the sea in her campervan with her husband and young daughter.

Jo Casson - Portfolio Director

Joanne Casson is a Portfolio Director, with responsibility for delivering a high quality experience for a number of Hemsley Fraser's global clients. Jo leads and organises the teams of consultants, designers and project managers in many of the most complex, global engagements, including long term managed services projects.

Having worked in a senior leadership role within client services and managed services for over 15 years, Jo has a breadth of experience in the logistics, infrastructure and vendor management aspects of managed services. She has experience in change management of large scale global implementations, where clients work with Hemsley Fraser is the strategic partner for managing the entire learning and development budget, including second tier suppliers. Jo has led many of the innovations in Hemsley Fraser's managed services offering.

Jo joined Hemsley Fraser in 1996 and has developed her career through undertaking a range of roles, ranging from operational management of the client services team through to working in client facing roles to develop long term, strategic relationships.

Jo is a Member of the Institute of Linguists and speaks French fluently and much of her experience prior to joining Hemsley Fraser was gained working internationally for the United Nations and NATO as well as a number of blue chip organisations, such as L'Oréal.

When not at work Jo enjoys spending time with her teenage children, baking, running, Ceroc dancing and chilling out with a glass of wine!

Linda Pugh - Portfolio Director

As Portfolio Director, Linda is responsible for managing a global portfolio of clients, with a focus on the quality of the client experience and the commercial performance of client engagements. She is responsible for the performance of client teams and ensuring that the highest quality work is delivered against client expectations. Linda is a member of the team of four Portfolio Directors and brings a specialist expertise in vendor management, global resourcing, together with in-depth knowledge of learning and development solutions.

As a member of the Hemsley Fraser senior leadership team, Linda's previous role was Head of Global Resourcing. She was responsible for the effective management and organisation of all learning and development resources required to meet client needs, ensuring that this supports and delivers the business strategy. Over the past 3 years she has travelled internationally representing the organisation, extending our Global Resource Network and developing resource partnerships throughout the world.

Linda is a Fellow of the CIPD. She has a generalist HR background, and has chosen to specialise in the area of Learning and Development. In addition she has been Chair of Northwest London Education and Partnership Advisory Board as well as being a member of the Weald College National Record of Achievement Validating Board.

When not working (or helping her husband run his Home Maintenance business) Linda takes every opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of London life and return 'home' to the hills and valleys of the beautiful Lake District.
