Overview

Course duration: 5 days.

The Diploma in Business Administration provides office professionals with a recognised qualification from the UK’s leading training provider. The breadth of the modules will provide you with the core competencies that will enable you to take on a broader role, increased management responsibilities and offer greater contributions to your manager and team.

The Diploma will be awarded when you have attended this five day programme and on completion of post-module assignments. There is a more flexible approach to this programme which can be completed between 3 and 18 months. Please call our learning advisors for more information on 0845 071 2801.

Description

This programme can be completed in a week. If you would like a more flexible option you can attend the first module - ‘Building on your Communications Skills’ – and attend the remaining modules in any order. You can complete individual days or days grouped together. Whatever suits your schedule best!

Building on your Communication Skills

By the end of this module you will be able to:

Finance and Budgets

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • Recognise users of accounting information and differentiate between financial and management
  • Understand the structure and terminology behind those two famous documents:
    • Profit and loss account
    • Balance sheet
  • Understand the importance of working capital
  • Understand the nature and behaviour of costs
  • Differentiate between capital and revenue expenditure
  • Define budgeting and understanding its importance
  • Compile a simple departmental budget
  • Compile a cash budget

Project Management

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • Define what is meant by a project
  • Identify the role, skills and qualities of an effective project manager
  • Set clear, realistic objectives for a project and understand the project life cycle
  • Confidently plan, organise and document a project in a logical manner
  • Monitor, control and adjust a project effectively and keep all relevant parties informed of project progress
  • Predict risks and make appropriate contingency plans
  • Review and learn from strengths and weakness identified on completion of a project

By the end of this module you will be able to:
