Learn how to manage the identification, assessment and control of risks across any organisational perspective. Effective risk management can bring far-reaching benefits to all organisations, whether large or small, as well as individuals managing projects or programmes.
M_o_R (Management of Risk) was created to encourage public and private sector organisations to adopt a structured approach to managing threats and uncertainties across all aspects of their businesses.
The M_o_R Guide will help them make informed decisions about the risks that affect their strategic, programme, project and operational objectives.
In a world full of rapidly changing environmental and market conditions the ability to make informed decisions with regard to risk in those environments is essential. This course is an in-depth study of the
M_o_R method and includes the highly valued Foundation and Practitioner exams. All delegates will receive a copy of the Management of Risk: Guidance for Practitioners manual. This course is fully accredited by the Educational Institute.
This course is suited to individuals whose work requires a controlled approach to managing risk. It is likely to be particularly relevant to senior people responsible for areas such as business processes, security, premises and other areas of legal compliance and risk. Senior project and programme managers will also benefit.
Delegates with practical experience of managing major change, using programmes or projects, will derive the greatest benefit from this course.
The purpose of the Practitioner certification is to confirm whether you have sufficient understanding of how to apply and tailor M_o_R in a scenario situation. You should, with suitable direction, be able to start applying an M_o_R approach to any organisational perspective but may not be sufficiently skilled to do this appropriately for all situations. Your individual risk management expertise, complexity of the organisational context and the support provided for the use of M_o_R in your work environment will all be factors that impact what you can achieve.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Develop joined up risk processes
- Handle risk at the right level
- Plan for fewer uncertainties
- Achieve better service delivery
- More effectively manage change
- Increase innovation
- Manage complex change better
- Meet audit requirements
- Master the M_o_R method
- Learn useful techniques
- Sit the M_o_R Foundation and Practitioner exams
This is an intensive course and delegates are recommended to complete the pre-course reading, to include the M_o_R manual. You will also have approximately two hours homework per night during the course.
Our advice is to do as much pre-work as possible (between 10 and 12 hours of study time), to give you the best chance of success.
