Our Staff

  • Carl Hutchings

Hello, I’m Carl and I head up the Hemsley Fraser Resourcing Team. My role is the creation and ongoing management of a global network of facilitators and partner suppliers that enables the successful delivery of HF business both in the UK and globally. The role has enabled me to develop an understanding of cultural differences and styles across the world to ensure our facilitators are able to best serve our client requirements. My main objective is to enable Hemsley Fraser to deliver their client solutions with a team of best in class facilitators who have values and attributes that mirror ‘The HF Way’, are passionate about what they do and who want to have a positive impact on the lives of the people they work with.

    My learning tip:
Abraham Lincoln is often quoted as saying, ‘Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe’. Preparation is the key to everything we do, both in our work and personal life, whether it’s an interview, a negotiation, writing a report or even planning a holiday. Do some background reading and networking, getting your facts in order and talking to people who have already been where you want to go. Manage your energy levels so that you are ready for any unplanned eventualities and remind yourself where you are going. You would be surprised how much unimportant stuff can get in the way and blunt your axe.

  • Karen Jones

Hello, I am Karen and my role in Hemsley Fraser is Head of Human Resources, which I enjoy very much. We undertake the usual HR responsibilities; managing the operational requirements, implementing and updating policies, recruitment, development of our employees and of course dealing with the variety of events that occur in a ‘normal’ day at the office. At HF we make a point of creating opportunities for employees to develop their roles, make a positive difference and flourish with fulfilling and interesting careers.  This can take many forms, from a thank you and well done from a manager or colleague, to a new policy in which every employee has the day off for their birthday.

    Little Known learning tip:
Music is an important part of people’s lives and many cultures, it has no intrinsic value but it creates happy memories, it can change your mood and of course entertain you. Also we would look pretty strange dancing without it! Recent studies suggest that music can have an impact on a person’s creativity. So, make sure you take regular opportunities to play or at least listen to music.
One of my favourite song lyrics is from Alan Jackson/Zac Brown (Walkin’ Away) – ‘Don’t let regret get in the way of dreams that you must chase’.  A good message for life and certainly how we like to work at HF.

  • Ariunzaya Bazarsad

Looking after the Grosvenor Place training centre experience, I am always trying to come up with new and creative ways to enhance our delegates time with us. Afterall, our tagline 'learning is changing' applies just as much outside of the training room. I believe that environment can impact how much you learn and we work to provide our delegates with comfort, excitement and stimulation. Whether it be in the form of themed events, or seasonal treats, I am not one to shy away from an idea.

    My little learning tip:
Memorise something every day – You’ll keep your brain sharp!

    My learning tip:
For my tip I have taken inspiration from my love of scuba diving... In diving, as in our working lives, it's really important to stay calm to perform well. So, whenever you start to panic or feel stressed, focus on your breathing to help you calm down. Concentrate on the 'in' and 'out' of your breathing, slowing this down to a steady and regular pace. You'll soon feel better.
